I have eaten approximately only 820 calories today, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Do you think that's unhealthy?

Yay for finding:

Yay for

(Yeah, well we were walking around from 930 AM to 4 PM so it was like heaven on our taste buds.)

Yay for eating:

Fuck Mesh

  • Apr. 29th, 2009 at 9:43 PM

Dude, I have been crocheting mesh for two days now and I'm getting nowhere. And I'm supposed to have about ten of these done by Christmas? Realistic, but frustrating.

I'm making mesh bags for morel mushroom hunting. I <3 the shrooms, just not crazy about the ticks, so I don't go and everyone shares their shrooms with me. So I thought it would be a nice gesture to make some bags.

I had a crazy idea of making a shit ton and selling those for the craft fair this year in October, but I don't think I can make that many without wanting to slice my hands off at the wrist.

Cheerio!

I had a crazy weekend.

  • Apr. 26th, 2009 at 10:15 PM

I cleaned. Watched four movies. Had dinner at my moms. And spent about 3 1/2 hours crocheting this )
He's going on my desk because as of now the only decorations include a crocheted katamari, ninja and "corporate" zombie.

I had a few more things and they got ganked from my desk by the cleaning crew. They don't seem interested in the crocheted items. We'll see.

Is ganked really a word?

OMGORGEOUS

We've been super slow at work during the middle of the week so I left today at 1230 and took some vacation. Thought it would be fun to use out my first zoo pass EVER.

Now, you have to see my favorite pictures! )
I love our zoo. Can't wait for them to get the skyfari up and running. It looked sweet as shit. However they had a bunch of sandbangs in a lot of the chairs as if they were testing the weight limit or something. That's kind of scary...

And, a seperate post because it's deserving

Congrats to Carrie and Pfloyd. :)

Now go adopt more kitties. :D

weekend

  • Apr. 19th, 2009 at 10:42 PM

1. Performed my first T-shirt surgery. I had a pink Where the Wild Things Are baby doll shirt that was WAY TOO SHORT. I took an orange shirt and extended the bottom of the original shirt, removed the pink sleeves and made them orange as well. It's kind of an odd combination, but everyone seems to like it, it fits SO MUCH BETTER and it's given me the confidence to try more extensive T shirt recons. Yay.

2. Went to the craft fair at the Qwest. It was fun. I didn't get the chance to eat before I went, was pissed at the prices of the concessions and left full anyway due to all the free samples at the "food" booths. I ended up buying three dip mixes (two jalapeno flavors and one garlic/spinach.) Yum. My sis picked up some soup mixes, and I got a cinnamon difuser. Smells and tastes, the best crafts ever.

3. Worked out at 730 Saturday morning, watched a lot of movies, and was generally a bum. It was great. No drinking, no leaving the house for extended periods, NOTHING. *sigh/smile*

4. Watched "On the Edge." Did you know Cillian Murphey is Irish? He went up about twenty notches in my book. I also learned he tried out for the part of Batman in Batman Begins. Kind of glad that one didn't pan out... (Useless trivia, yay!)

5. Can't wait to get back into the gym tomorrow. Running a mile with no problem. Going to have to extend the distance soon. :)

The general population is filled with close minded individuals who will never aspire to see anything past the bottom of their empty beer mugs.

P.S. I'm not angry, I'm actually amused at their ignorance tonight.

Good night ElJay land!

My brother just brought home "Seven Pounds" and "Marley and Me."

Wonder if he brought home a bottle of Xanax to OD on as well after watching those downers.

So did anyone go to the TEA party on 18th and Farnam this evening? It was kind of surreal because I've never seen anything like that, especially across from my place of work. So I thought it would be fun to take some photos from the third floor of the parking garage and share them.

Large pictures )

Honestly I was indifferent to the whole thing due to the fact I live in IA, however the running fact is I don't live in NE because the taxes are super high. However, I thought it would be cool to join a huge rally like that and be passionate about something in your life.

Which leads me to my next point.

This guy's blog is my new favorite blog ever. He's got more passion about EVERYTHING than I do about one thing. OK, maybe my dog, lol. That's a given.

Anyway, he's an urban explorer when he's not being a stay at home dad and he is documenting all of the places in Detroit as they have been walked away from and are slowly falling in on themselves. Some of the stories are heartbreaking. Others are so freaking interesting it was hard to come back from break at work and quit reading them.

Check out this warehouse where the schools stored books )

That's about it. Nothing to update, other than my step mom got a new rat terrier puppy. Her sweet little face almost makes me not hate rat terriers. ;)

recap

  • Feb. 25th, 2008 at 8:52 AM

This was one of the most horrifying weekends for me I think I've ever had.

After Benson, it all went downhill )

A big thanks to everyone at the Waiting Room for making Friday not a COMPLETE loss.

I'm going to use this walkthrough to make a new plushie soon, but I want to make a video game character, kind of like Sora on the right of the website.

I'm just stumped as to who to make. Any good suggestions? (No Big Daddies, Daniel. Although, Little Sisters could be fun...)

Can I borrow some? For my car?

Last night I went to start my car to go home. My heater didn't work and after scraping my windows, the wipers burnt out as well. Our parts guy found a used motor for $45 and the tech said he'd replace it for 1/2 hour. which is incredibly cheap. These guys are great.

Anyway I had to drive an '08 Rio with 7 miles on it home last night. Talk about nerve racking. Being an employee, should I wreck a lot car I'm covered, but I didn't even want to deal with it.

So, I think my birthday will be my last shin-dig at the bar considering I really need to start saving for a new car. Considering my raise is now in effect I should be able to save fairly efficiently.

By the time I save up, my car will look like this:

(That's the exact make and model of my car, even the same color. That's just not MY car.)
